Pelikan Griffix sets new standards by introducing the first comprehensive system in the world for teaching children from pre-school age and upwards how to write properly. This concept has been developed based on the latest research on graphomotor skills in cooperation with specialized educationalists and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering.
This system of writing instruments has a unique ergonomically shaped child friendly grip zone developed to encourage children to hold writing instruments correctly in a ‘pliers grip’. The four models of the Griffix system help children to master the successive steps in the process of learning to write.
Step 1 - Wax Pen
At the pre-school age, the child will learn how to hold the pen and apply the correct pressure
Step 2 - Pencil
At the start of school, the child learns more precision and definition of handedness
Step 3 - Ink Writer
In preparation for the fountain pen, the child learns more fluid writing movements
Step 4 - Fountain Pen
In the last step of the learning process, the child learns good writing form

The ergonomically shaped grip zone with perfect support for thumb, index and middle finger is based on the optimal writing posture, the pliers grip, which offers children perfect movement possibilities for the production of writing. This pliers grip can only be correctly cultivated when the writing instrument promotes the proper posture from the very beginning.

The name griffix (Griff (Ge.)= grip) says it all: It is the innovative, child-friendly grip that makes the new writing instrument so unique. This was developed according to the newest graphomotoric findings in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Organization.
